Sweet Darkness & The Balsamic Moon

I found this poem on Sudhir’s website!  It was a joy to find him here on the WordPress blog-o-sphere.

Welcome,  Jonathon!

I’ll be seeing you at The Energy Intensive, soon.

I remember reading a lot of David’s poetry during the time I was working in the Real Estate industry.

It got me through some stressful times.  As did your yoga/meditation classes at Kripalu.

I hope it’s okay with you that I’ve linked to you here.  Let me know otherwise, please.   Jai Bhagwan.

So, for those in my classes who have requested a copy of the poem.

Om Shanti.

When your eyes are tired the world is tired also.

When your vision has gone no part of the world can find you.

Time to go into the dark where the night has eyes to recognize its own.

There you can be sure you are not beyond love.

The dark will be your womb tonight.

The night will give you a horizon further than you can see.

You must learn one thing: The world was made to be free in.

Give up all the other worlds except the one to which you belong.

Sometimes it takes darkness and the sweet confinement of your aloneness to learn, anything or anyone that does not bring you alive, is too small for you.

David Whyte…..poet

The Balsamic Phase of the Moon will end on Monday’s Solar Eclipse.   Use this time wisely.

  1. Thanks for this poetry .
I keep coming back to the David Whyte poem here, to refresh myself. Now I find myself looking for the poem your friend wrote, with images of sending roots down.

  2. I’m still waiting for you to post your Feng Shui “True Stories….”

    Best regards,

    • Hello Margot………yes, and it’s still going to happen. Unfortunately, I am in the middle of some bizarre house repairs and I don’t have much time to write, right now. Thanks for your inquiry….it inspires me to get going!

What do you think?
