I just finished reading Calleman’s book on the Mayan Calender.
Prior to that I finished Barbara Hand Clow’s book that she wrote to discuss Calleman’s book.
Daniel Pinchbeck’s book titled: 2012 adds a few different twists to the unfolding story.
According to some of these modern-day prophets & wizards, the Mayan’s really knew what they knew and their pyramids, writings, and most especially their calendars were amazing, physical testaments of their knowledge.
The Mayan Calendar is a time-measurement tool that is tracking “spiritual” time……and their-in lies the dilemma. Our entire, planetary culture has lost it’s ability to perceive’s what spiritual time’ is, with a few notable, exceptional, people.
But, don’t worry, be happy. We’ll understand soon. It’ll be right on time. We’re now at the end of what they call, Day 5….a time of transitioning, a mid-point as such.
We can see the forks in the road, clearly. It is time to make conscious choices that improve the wellbeing of all beings………..or not.
Night 5 of the current ‘Underworld’ of the Mayans, begins this November and continues until Nov.2008 Day 6 begins Nov.08.
By Oct. 28, 2011 according to Calleman the Mayan Calendar ends.
What’s sooo interesting to me about this is that the same time cycles appear in the calendars of the early Vedic Culture and they lived at least half a planet away from the Mayans. Similarities and synchronicities abound between the yogi’s and the mayans.
Whose calendar do you follow?
Why?
And more importantly;
Will Astrology be necessary after 2012?

Anahat - The Unstruck Sound
...an experiential workshop for celtic harpers
Anahat is a sanskrit word for 'inner sound'
and refers to the 4th chakra of the body otherwise known as the Heart Center. It is believed that one cannot hear the unstruck sound until one has reached a certain level of consciousness of the Heart.
The human body is a like a musical instrument. When we begin to pay attention to body sensations, heart beat & breath while playing the harp interesting things can begin to happen. Spiritual seekers have used music to reach altered states for eons. The harmonics of the harp provide the exact right tone to connect with the heart.
This workshop is an opportunity to open the heart
and discover for ourselves how the body responds to harp vibrations.

This looks like a fascinating book! Thank you for bringing it to our attention. And I didn’t know there were such connections between Vedic and Mayan cultures. I was aware of the similarities between pyramids like the picture you posted, and the Egyptian pyramids–again half a world away. The concept of “spiritual time” gave me goosebumps. As the “time” gets closer, I am aware of rumblings in the “force”, so to speak.
I grew up in San Francisco, and although the Gregorian calendar in use everywhere now was the main one we followed, I knew many people who additionally followed the Hebrew or Chinese calendars, so I’ve had some exposure to other ancient ones. It does put things into perspective. It’s very hard to “match” dates from two different systems, as we in the west are wont to do. Thanks for sharing this, & peace to you.

Yes. There are many different ways to track and measure time. What many who came before have discovered is that scheduling activities according to the Lunar Cycle will keep us all ‘on time’, all of the time. We all see the same moon.
Thanks for your thoughful comment.

Hi guys. Whats interesting about the Mayan calender ending on October 28, 2011 is that it is in line with biblical predictions of the end of time on October 21, 2011. The basis for this date called “Judgement Day” is as follows:
1) It will be exactly 13, 023 years from the creation of Adam and Eve to Oct 21, 2011. The number 23 in the bible has always represented ‘Judgement’. These 23 years of Judgement is the true length of time called the ‘Tribulation Period’ which started in 1988.
2) It wll be exactly 7,000 years from the day of the flood to Oct 21, 2011. Even God said himself in the old testament “A day is to a thousand years and a thousand years is to a day and in seven days I will destroy this world with water”. so as to suggest in 7,000 years he will destroy the world again except with fire.
3) It will be exactly 2,000 years from the true birth of christ to Oct 21, 2011.
The bibles mentions a global earthquake that will occur on May 21, 2011 which is when the rapture is suppose to occur. For 5 months after this earthquake, God is suppose to unleash terrible global catastrophes that will end on Oct 21, 2011. On this date God will destroy this universe with “fervent heat”. It turns out that scientists say due to the alignment of the sun, earth and milky way in that year will cause the shifting of the magnetic poles that can result in a global earthquake , amungst other disasters, to occur. God has always used natural disasters to carry out his judgement against mankind for some reason. I couldnt figure out the seven day time difference though between the Maynas and the bible. The only thing I could speculate is that if it took God seven days to create the universe it will take seven days to destroy it. Another spooky coincidence is that Oct. 21, 2011 is a day the Mayans have numbered:
13.13.13.13.13.13.13.13.13.13. Whats amazing about this number is that it is the most significant number in the bible. It represents ‘Super Perfection’. Like the 12 apostles plus Christ. The number 10 in the bible always represents completeness. So the Mayans number 13 ten times would represent “Super Perfection in all its completeness” or you could simply say “It is finished”. The Mayans had no understanding of these biblical meanings. Why is God doing all this? Because man was created in His image and likeness and in so doing has held us responsible for ‘ALL’ our actions. The penalty of sin is death. The only way one can attain eternal life is to cry to the Lord for mercy. To repent and accept Jesus Christ for the atonement of your sins. It doesn’t mean he will save you but it puts you in a good predicament in the eyes of the Lord where he might find compasion for you. Until this date I wish you well.

Hello kg
The dates that I posted were found in Calleman’s book. The link is in the first sentence of the post. However, that being said, when you are trying to determine an exact date for a time period that may be years in length I doubt you can really be very precise. I’d start paying attention…..now!

do you all re-read things you write? (pls not an insult). but how couldd you believe these, i mean i believe in paranormal things and all but not this..’will’ was calculating judgement date( who told you those dates and who is the mortal that certified them) thats like predicting the alleged rapture date which jesus couldnt and saying tribulation stated 1988, i thought it happened long ago when josephus antiq(cant recall his name ) took over the temple in jerusalem thus fulfillin as they say, ”the abomination that maketh desolate”. pls this things are pure lies or misunderstood article and by the way, this people change a lot of things while interpreting ancient documents..mayans dont write 1,2,3..they write *,&,%, so there’s bound to be misinterpretation….and i like cam’ron,,the calenda just recycles, all the way. no end of times in sight yet,,live on

Hello guys! I was just browsing the internet to find out more information about Judgment Day when I accidentally stumbled across my own comment on this site. lol. Please forgive me for the neglect. I see I had some replies from from certain individuals. In response to Marks comments I would like to reply. Long story short, if you do the math in the bible to establish time lines you arrive at the dates I have stated. The bible is a very complex book to understand. If you are really interested in understanding how exactly we have arrived at this, you must read the book “Time has an end” by Harold Camping. He breaks it down in terms the average person can understand. Here is a link showing these time lines from the book I have just stated.

Even though I only believe what the bible has to say about end time events, I like to research into non biblical information that seemingly corroborates the bible. For example, I recently discovered an event to come that would fulfill all the prophecies of Judgment Day in the bible. In 1983 NASA has published an article in the Washington Post that they have discovered a ‘Planet X’ in an elongated orbit around our solar system. http://www.planet-x.150m.com/washpost.html. Whats very suspicious is they immediately recanted their find claiming it was a mistake. If this does happen it would destroy everything on earth! That being the case, the implications of allowing the public to know about this would only bring about panic. There would be no way of any government to keep there powers intact after such a catastrophe. It is also believed that all world governments are preparing themselves to survive this event even as we speak and even built a observatory in the south pole specifically for this planet. But they have no intentions on saving everyone. Only a hand pick people few who they feel would have the best attributes for starting a new civilization.
Apparently every 3,600 years (approx) this ’secondary solar system’ comes close to earth. Its next pass by earth is expected between 2010 and 2012. As a result will cause the shifting of the magnetic poles that would result in a global earthquakes, volcanoes, tsunamis, hurricanes, asteroids, sun flares amongst other disasters to occur. God has always used natural disasters to carry out his judgment against mankind for some reason. Planet X would be exactly what He would use to carry out such destruction. It is speculated that this crossing was also responsible for Noah’s Flood exactly 7000 years ago. Apparently the sleeping prophet Edgar Cayce predicted the pole shifting also at that time. However, people in the know see this cataclysmic event as just a natural disaster they must somehow survive. What they don’t know is that if this happens it is a result of Gods anger and judgment on mankind for their sin. All this will begin on May 21, 2011 until October 21, 2011. The bad news isn’t that the unsaved will suffer a horrible and shameful death but that after they die they will have lost their inheritance which was eternal life. The only consolation is they will not be tormented in hell for eternity. All the descriptions of hell in the bible was symbolic for eternal death. You must read this book if you have questions. Cry to the Lord for mercy and repent of your sins. Then wait patiently for the Lords decision. There is exactly 3 years from today left. I hoped I have been informative. I will check in again soon. God bless.

TheAbysmal // June 16, 2008 at 1:59 pm |
interesting speculation – Alan Moore proposed in his graphic novel “Promethea” that the so-called end of the world is a drawn-out moment of mass-rapture, as if everyone on earth reaches nirvana simultaneously – this doesn’t that everyone’s ready for it, nor that you don’t have to go back to work the next day – but more that it’s a paradigm shift on a global level.
As for the numerology in the bible – that’s a rabbit hole that goes very very deeply indeed.
However, as the Old Testament was a series of oral tales, and there is no evidence for a historical “Jesus” person, I have a heavy dose of skepticism about the timing according to the bible.
One thing I found most fascinating about the Maya and the Vedic Indians, is that they both considered gestation as a crucial time period – the Maya’s 260-tzolkin calendar is meant to track the time of gestation, and provide a fundamental paradigm for all levels of time – Ayurvedic medicine uses the tridoshas as one of its fundamental definitions of body type – they are the three embryonic membranes that form during gastrolation (after day 13 from conception) and form all of our various body tissues in different proportions.

Hello again my friends. I was passing by to view any comments I might have received. Greg, its good to see you are a true brother. As you know there is less than 35 months left before judgment day.
It seems that the Lord has revealed another revelation from the bible. The scripture that makes note of the 200,000,000 who will be raptured on May 21, 2011. Harold Camping has mentioned this as you know. I don’t know that scripture off hand. Next time I come back I promise to share it. It sounds like allot but when you compare it to the 7,000,000,000 people on this earth that only 3% of the population! Or 1 in 35 people will be saved! It’s almost incomprehensible!
My initial reaction was why would God destroy so many men, women and children? You only need to look at the old testament to answer that question. For one when God destroyed the world with the flood. Only Noah’s family was saved. The other countless millions were destroyed. Then there is Daniel. God had commanded him and his army to cut to pieces entire cities with their swords including every man, women and child. Could you imagine how gruesome that must have been? And the bad part isn’t that they died a horrible death but that they had lost their inheritance which was eternal life! In the new testament God makes mention of saving a ‘remnant’ for himself and how many will be lost and few will find the way. There is plenty of biblical passages that keep reinforcing the fact that God intends on destroying most people. The only consolation for the unsaved is that they will cease to exist. They will never suffer or know what they have missed. It’s actually very merciful at the same time it is an ENORMOUS loss to be missing out on the eternal pleasures of heaven.
How are you Abysmal? I see you are having trouble believing in the bible. It is true that it was put together by the many hands of individuals. The truth of the matter is that it has never been proven wrong to date. Archaeologists swear by it to help them discover things. The most difficult part of the bible is Genesis 1:1…”In the beginning God created the heavens and the earth.” If you could get past that scripture, the rest is easy. lol.
If God could speak the universe into existing, I’m sure He would have no trouble establishing His infallible Word through the hands of man. As for the Mayans, they were just able to read the stars which God had created. Since God is mathematically perfect it’s no wonder that He has allowed us to be able to read the heavens.
No one will ever be able to prove that God does exist. That’s why it’s called faith. It’s no accident that God has intentionally made himself invisible to mankind just as He has made the bible incredibly difficult to interpret correctly. He has nothing to prove to anyone. In fact when Judgment day comes billions will die with out even knowing if God even exists let alone understand that they have been judged. Does it really matter that mankind understand his demise anyway? No because after they die they will cease to exist. If anything it’s merciful not to let them know what they have missed. This concept of a Judgment hearing after everyone dies is a misunderstanding of judgment day. Well I could chat more but I am on my way to Miami for my Independence Day vacation week. When I get back I will check in to see how everybody is doing. Until next time, God bless.

Why do we frustrate ourselves with vien theories? God has made Himself visible through Jesus Christ and has made His words clear through His Prophets and Apostiles. None of this matters what will happen.
The Question is Are your sins washed away?
Are you saved, that’s the most important question for you to ask yourself if all this matters to you.

Hello again my friends. Hope all is well. Just passing by to see any new comments. In response to Jane clothiers comment about a massive waterfall killing everyone on Oct. 22nd and 23rd of 2011. We don’t really know what happens after Oct. 21, 2011 because that seems to be the official last day of this universe. Refer to my previous comments that explain why this end date was established. As previously mentioned, the Mayan calender does not end on Dec 21, 2012 but on Oct 28, 2011 which will be exactly seven days after the expected end date. I could only speculate that if it took God seven days to create the universe it will take seven to destroy it. There are some interesting facts I recently discovered that seem to fall in line with this time. These are just curiosities at best. For example the world population will be exactly 7 billion by the year 2011. It will be the 10th anniversary of the 9/11 disaster. The twin towers symbolizing the number 11 again in an uncanny way. Now I have learned that the atom collider in Switzerland has finally finished and has started experiments already. What really caught my attention is that they had said their findings could take a few years to process in answering the origins of the universe. Timing impeccable again. Then there is Planet X again that lumes over us.
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=U-3RLx_4Y5Y.
Everything seems to culminate to this 2011 year for some reason. Again its purely speculation. The thing is what can one do to prepare for this? The answer is nothing. From before the foundations of time, the Lord had already predestined who will be given eternal life. You could only cry to the Lord to have mercy on you. It doesn’t mean He will say you but it puts you in a good predicament in the eyes of the Lord. This global earthquake that is expected on May 21, 2011 is going to be the 9/11 disaster on a global scale. Whats interesting is that the main reason for this earthquake is to unearth the bodies of the dead unsaved from their tombs to the earth surface to be desecrated like dung for all to see the anger of God. I could only imagine the hopelessness of this situation. Well based on my counter there is only: 978 days 23,484 hours 1,409,088 minutes left before May 21, 2011. This will have to stand the test of time. Until next time may God be with you all.

Theses calenders were used to measure real time, not “spiritual time,” which is as meaningless a phrase as “spiritual lobster” or “spiritual gravity.” Similar calendars occur in distance and divided cultures becuase they are basing their calenders on the same thing, i.e., the motions of heavenly bodies and the seasons. After being spiced up by the religious and cultural beliefs of the day, we arrive at what we observe of their labors today. Also, this idea that the Mayan’s were so totally advanced that they managed to predict the end times when our scientists, engineers, and philosophers failed to do so seems absurd. The advancements required to accomplish what those ancient societies did pales in comparison to the complexity of engineering a single computer chip. We are more advanced, technologically and intellectually, in every possible way. Much more. Perhaps we are not “spiritually advanced,” though. Maybe if I go have some “spiritual coffee,” watch some “spiritual TV,” and then have a satisfying spiritual BM, this notion of 2012 might come to me in an epiphany…but I doubt it (see how putting spiritual in front of everything doesn’t necessarily make it deep, rational, or sensible?). If the world ends on 2012, it will be becuase we end it.
Scientist // March 24, 2009 at 8:58 pm |
Just because you can order pizza with one hand and switch TV channels with the other hand, while laying down on your sofa doesn’t make you intellectually more advanced then a Mayan.
James Young // April 16, 2009 at 5:10 am |
To Will, I can see that you are very fundamentalist in your belief system. Not to be too sarcastic, but you need to return to the fundamentals of the Christian faith, “salvation”. You are very good at calculating the numbers and seem to be interested in heralding this to all. In all of your heralding, remember the scriptures, John 3:16″For God so loved the world that he gave his one and only Son,[f] that whoever believes in him shall not perish but have eternal life. 17For God did not send his Son into the world to condemn the world, but to save the world through him. 18Whoever believes in him is not condemned, but whoever does not believe stands condemned already because he has not believed in the name of God’s one and only Son.”. ‘Whoever believes in him is not condemned’, why do you not preach this statement over your previous, “epent and accept Jesus Christ for the atonement of your sins. It doesn’t mean he will save you but it puts you in a good predicament in the eyes of the Lord where he might find compasion for you.”, or “Cry to the Lord for mercy and repent of your sins. Then wait patiently for the Lords decision.” I personally think that the actual scripture that says “whosoever believes in Him” kinda covers all the “whosoever’s” out there. You might want to rethink your approach to apologetics. I don’t mean to seem so abrupt but it kinda erks me that a “Christian” trying to teach others anything about the Bible would say such vile things and devalue what Christ did on the cross. You are essentially saying that when Jesus said, “it is finished”, he really meant to say, “well, I’m not so sure about you buddy, keep on beggin’ for a while and maybe I’ll let you in”. Just a thought.

Does it really matter if the dates are exact or the times are out a little, what really matters is that it shows us that there is a change happening all around us right now and we can participate in it or not. I think we are all aware of the change in energy that is taking place and that time seems to be going faster. So maybe the universe is trying to wake us up, to help us get out of our egos and to see who we really are. We are all so caught up in being right. I think its time to let it all go.
The beauty of what I have read is that creation has a plan that it is following and all I have to do is let go and just be.

JY, I really appreciate your comments.I am a Christian, but I don’t think that my soul will be floating in Limbo while the Good Lord decides if I am groveling and repenting well enough to get an e-ticket to heaven punched.
However, I have always been confused about a few things. The scripture you’ve quoted indicates that God will only give salvation to those that believe in Jesus Christ, and those that don’t are condemned “because he has not believed in the name of God’s one and only Son.”
This indicates salvation only for Christians, which has never made any sense to me. Why would God choose to save only a small population? The tenets of Christianity promote love and understanding of your fellow man, not hatred of non-Christians. Let’s say 1 billion people out of 7 billion cut the mustard. Does He relinquish 6 billion souls to Hell? Or do these souls just cease to exist? If the universe is destroyed by God, does everything in Heaven and Hell cease to exist as well? What about “eternal” salvation? (or damnation?)
Do we really believe that acetic monks living in Nepal are condemned to burn in Hell for eternity simply because they don’t believe in Jesus Christ? Men who live their lives every day peacefully, dedicated to God and worship, prayer and meditation, caring for the sick and poor?
Meanwhile greedy Americans that eat too much food and are way too occupied with material things get to go to heaven because they are believers and always have been? (And yes, I’m one of them)
To me, when God created men in his own image, he must have included all these faults and shortcomings. Thus, he should forgive these defects when passing judgment.
I have also always been baffled when people seem to think they have the wisdom to understand the mind of God, what he wants for us and what he does not. One might point to the Bible, not a bad idea, as the only reliable source of God’s intentions and will. However, we must remember that the Bible was written by men, who we know are fallible.
Jacqui Bunting // July 22, 2009 at 4:27 pm |
Well I agree with a bit of O, James Young, Metro Stae Atheists and Banana!
If you take a bit of each- there is some balance to be found. Science/ spirituality/ common sence and a sense of homour! And Will, you really need to chill out and cheer up- you make God sound like some egoistic tyrant- which he is not. The fact is there are many changes taking place in the world now and since time began, it’s just accelerating faster now, and many of us feel that something big is imminant.
I beieve that The Mayan Calendar is linked to earth and universal energy shifts and when these occur. There are also many synchronises with many other calendars, other ancient civilizations, man made religions and their “holy” books, and prophesies.
The calendar ends in 2011- what does this mean? End of the world? End of civilization as we know it? Beginning of an enlightened golden age? Life carrying on the same and a new cycle starting all over again. The truth is no one really knows, but we all have our beliefs and theories.
But whatever these are- the message is the same- to align ourselves to whatever is supposed to happen, we are supposed to lead a good healthy life- in humility, grace and with a sense of humour! And that to me is the best part of all this- whatever your beliefs are- just live a good, productive and honest life, hurting no one, and practicing good moral value, showing love, respect, kindness and compassion to all- other humans, animals and nature and the earth in general.
And | defy anyone to tell me what’s wrong with that no matter what happens??!!

While the theories presented sound plausible, as it relates to Biblical prophecy, my only concern is that there is of yet to be fulfilled the prophecies spoken of in Revelations regarding the anti-christ, the beast, beheading of believers, the mark, and a number of other relevant prophecies. Will, can you please provide explanation? Thanks, and God Bless.

How about the 1260 days of the two witnesses? The timeframe presented in this theory does not allow sufficient time for that prophecy to be fulfilled either.

How do you know if everything in the bible is even true? I heard that when they were writing the old testament, that there were at least 30 different scriptures and recollections of Jesus, but that only 4 made it into the book. It seems like when the bible was being written, that certain things were picked and chosen, while other scriptures were put on the chopping block.
